Terms of Service

Habitus

Terms of Service

Effective October 8, 2026
The simple rules for using Habitus — a personal license, Plus when it is offered, and honest limits on what an indie formation app can promise.

Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and Unity Bridge for the Habitus app and website at gohabitus.app. By downloading, creating an account, or using Habitus, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy at https://gohabitus.app/privacy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Habitus is a Christian daily formation product from Unity Bridge, the program arm of Day One. Company page: https://unitybridgeapps.com. Support: support@gohabitus.app.

License to use Habitus

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Habitus for your own spiritual formation. You may not copy, reverse engineer, resell, or scrape the app except as allowed by law. You may not use Habitus to provide a competing service built on our interface or non-public content.
Bible text in Habitus uses the public-domain World English Bible. That text is not our proprietary scripture translation. Habitus’s design, reflections, discipline flows, and software remain ours or our licensors’. Your journal entries remain yours. You grant us a limited license to store and sync them so the app can function.

Accounts

An account is optional for much of the app and required to sync across devices or use signed-in features. You are responsible for your password and for activity on your account. You must be at least 13 years old. You can delete a signed-in account in Settings. Steps are also at https://gohabitus.app/delete-account. We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms or that we cannot keep secure.

Habitus Plus and subscriptions

Habitus Plus may be offered as an optional paid plan (for example, the full set of spiritual disciplines, unlimited Ask the Word, and a curated listen). Plus is not always available for purchase. When it is offered, these rules apply:
▸
Web purchases, when enabled, are billed by Stripe. iOS purchases go through the Apple App Store. Android purchases go through Google Play. We do not take card numbers in the Habitus app itself.
▸
Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel through the same store you used, following that store’s instructions and deadlines.
▸
If a free trial is offered (for example, on a yearly plan), you will be charged unless you cancel before the trial ends, as the store or Stripe checkout explains at purchase.
▸
The price is shown in the purchase flow in the local currency of the App Store, Google Play, or website checkout you use. Taxes may apply.
▸
Restore a purchase in Settings when the stores require it. Refunds follow Apple, Google, Stripe, and any consumer law that applies to you — not a separate Habitus promise of a refund.
A portion of profits from Habitus, when there are profits, supports Day One Foundation’s work. That giving note does not change these Terms or create a charitable deduction for your subscription.

Spiritual content — no guaranteed outcomes

Habitus offers Scripture, reflections, and historic Christian practices as a lamp for the day, not a scorecard. It is not pastoral counseling, therapy, medical advice, or mental-health treatment. It does not guarantee spiritual growth, sobriety, healing, or any particular religious outcome. You remain responsible for your own life, church, and care.
If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or, in the United States, call or text 988. Do not rely on the app as your only help.

Acceptable use

▸
Do not misuse the service, probe it for vulnerabilities, or attempt to access another person’s journal.
▸
Do not use Habitus to send spam, malware, or unlawful content.
▸
Do not upload content you do not have the right to store.

Disclaimer of warranties

Habitus is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that Scripture search, Listen, or sync will always be complete.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unity Bridge and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or spiritual disappointment arising from your use of Habitus.
Our total liability for any claim relating to Habitus is limited to the amount you paid us for Habitus Plus in the twelve months before the claim, or ten U.S. dollars (US$10) if you have not paid us. Some places do not allow these limits. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by that law. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such a limit is forbidden.

Termination

You may stop using Habitus at any time and may ask us to delete your account. We may stop offering the app or a feature. Surviving terms include the license limits, disclaimers, liability cap, and governing law.

Changes

We may update these Terms. The current version lives at https://gohabitus.app/terms with the effective date at the top. Continued use after the new date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using Habitus and, if you have a subscription, cancel it with the store you used.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the state or federal courts located in Louisiana, United States, have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
